Children, Teenagers and Parenthood

Maya was born in California and moved to Israel at the age of ten - a personal experience that lets her understand, up close, the emotional complexity of moving between countries and cultures. In recent years, after completing her internship in the public service, she has accompanied children, teens and parents, with a special focus on families going through transition, immigration and relocation in her private practice. Maya also serves as a Lecturer on a variety of topics in psychology (Ethics, Developmental Psychology, Psychological Evaluation and Qualitative Research and Academic Writing) in Israel and abroad, as part of international programs bringing together participants from different countries and cultures around the world.

Maya holds a BA in psychology from Reichman University (IDC Herzliya) and an MA in educational psychology from the Peres Academic Center. Alongside therapy, assessment and parent guidance, she lectures in international programs and at the Kiryat Ono Academic College, and draws on a range of therapeutic approaches tailored to the unique needs of each child, teen and family. She believes that every person holds the strengths, resources and capacity to grow, cope and make meaningful change, especially when given guidance that is professional, sensitive and tailored to them.

Parenting & belonging

Maya was born in Philadelphia and spent most of her life in Israel, in an English-speaking home that bridged two cultures. That personal experience of living between places gives her a deep feel for the opportunities and challenges of moving between countries and cultures. In the clinic she accompanies children, teens and parents, specialising in families approaching a move or already in the midst of immigration and relocation.

Maya holds a BA and MA in educational psychology from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, and in the public service she supports educational settings and teams — from needs assessment and diagnosis to parent counselling and psychological care. She believes that, alongside its challenges, a move can be a meaningful experience of growth, which is why it’s worth preparing for it with professional, sensitive guidance. In her work she draws on tools from a range of therapeutic approaches, tailored to the unique needs of each child, parent and family.
